rec·la·ma·tion - "the process of claiming something back or of reasserting a right." For as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by abandoned places. Each place of abandonment has within it a story, a history. A time of prosperity and a time of decline A time of gathering and a time of emptiness A time of joyous celebration and a time of sobering quiet A time of value and a time of discardment What happened within these places? What changed? What events led to their current state? They are now being ravaged, reclaimed, and consumed by nature. I don't know how long these places will remain before either nature or man destroys them. I hope to document these wonderful structures before they disappear. This project documents the unstoppable, ever-present, and overcoming power of nature. Places of abandonment where human marks are being erased and covered over by nature.
